Well I watched them, and thy blew out, I couldnt do anything about it as I was already using my GND  filter. Could have maybe waited till a bit later, but im impatient.

Cannal Rocks

Gday Guys,

Well I went down to Dunsbrough last night after work for some sunset and sunrise action.  I decided I would start with Sugar Loaf Rock, but I just couldnt get it right, so I did the worst thing I could have done, I packed up and left. Oh yeah guess when the sky went into overboard with the pinks and yellows, just as I was driving up the road to go back to the campsite. I then went down to Cannal Rocks to check it out for my morning shoot. After a quick scout around, in the pitch black of night, I decided it was a good place to start the next morning off.  Got up at 4:20am made my way down there and started shooting. So far I am only happy with this one shot, and its off the rocks from the carpark. Let me know what you think, ill try and find atleast one more from the trip that I like.

Leasons learned this weekend, Even if your doing everything wrong and the photos suck, Just wait around a little bit longer, you never know the sky might just decide to kick some ass.

This one is very plain, with bugger all in the way of compositional greatness, I just thought the patterns in the sand were pretty interesting.
Enjoy.

Lancelin

I finnaly got out to Lancelin on thursday night, Unfortunately I got there just after the good light, and the clouds where just about gone by the time I made it out to the dunes, but it was still good to get out and have a look around, I wouldnt mind going again when there is some good cloud cover. As it turns out, my car is not made to drive over sand, as a result of this I had to walk out to the dunes. I didnt realise they were so far away, especially when your walking back in the dark. Anyway this is the one shot that I have edited so far, I think the sky is a bit to dark, thats a result of the way I turned it BnW. I managed to destroy SilverFX so I just converted it with the Black and White convertor and a bit of contrast added in afterwards.

Boatshed Anyone?

Finally one im quite happy with. I went out last night at about 8:30, my god was it cold, I took 6 shots and went home, I am quite pleased with myself on this one it came out pretty much how I was hoping. I have been meaning to get out and take a photo of the shed for about 2 months now, I went once and for the first time left my cf card at home, but then when I got home, I found it had been hidding and laughing at me from the bottom of my bag the whole time. Oh well I finally got the shot.

Targa West

•August 25, 2009 • 2 Comments

I went down to catch the last stage of the Targa West rally on Sunday arvo. The rain held off for the full two hours, which was rather pleasant, It was bloody cold though. Unfortunately I was limited to one shooting location due to safety regs, Didn’t stop me rattling off 780 shots. The biggest pain in the ass was the danger tape marking the corner, obviously necessary, but seriously, it got in the way of almost every photo, haha. Here are just a quick couple that I have currently edited.
